Qingdao Everglory Marine Technology Co.,Ltd., strongly cooperated with Weihai Puyi Marine Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. recently obtained the order of exhaust gas cleaning system(hereinafter called “EGCS”) for 58000DWT bulk carrier from a worldwide well-known shipowner of bulk carriers.

Since the beginning of 2018, Everglory managing team have accompanied senior executives and technical supervisors of the shipowner to visit and inspect production base of Puyi twice in succession. The customer fully affirmed and recognized the reliability and superiority of Puyi scrubber after witnessing the excellent running performance based on real ship engine in unique land-base laboratory. After six months of in-depth investigation and comparative analysis, the shipowner finally decided to cooperate with Everglory and placed the order.

The order Everglory and Puyi won this time is the first international order obtained by Chinese manufacturers of ship EGCS, which not only reflects the international customers' full affirmation on the Chinese desulfurization system, meanwhile enhances the confidence and courage of Chinese ship equipment suppliers in international market expansion.

Everglory and Puyi have stipulated specific production plan and certification scheme for this order presently. With the approval from shipowner, the EGCS under this P.O. is expected to be delivered by the end of this year.

On Jun. 5th, 2018, Kitack Lim, IMO secretary-general reiterated that enforcement date of sulfur restriction will not be postponed, which means that all global ships will not be able to use fuels with the sulfur content of higher than 0.5%. after 18 months later. Although low sulfur oil can meet the requirements of MARPOL, both huge fuel costs and tremendous LNG system retrofitting costs will become a huge burden for shipowners. Installation of EGCS will be the most economical and practical choice for global shipowners.
